Description
Connemara in Flat Rock, North Carolina, was home to poet and author, Carl Sandburg, and his wife Lilian. They lived in Connemara from 1945 until his death in 1967. The home is now a part of the National Park system and is designated as a National Historic Site. The Sandburg's were actually its third occupants as it was built prior to the Civil War. The day we visited was a lovely fall day, with colorful leaves still in evidence
