Description
The "hells" of Beppu are seven spectacular hot springs for viewing rather than bathing. Oniishibozu Jigoku is named after the grey mud bubbles, which emerge from boiling mud pools and supposedly look like the shaven heads of monks. In the city of Beppu in Oita Prefecture, the hot springs are scattered throughout the city.
